Google has started rolling out a new AI-powered feature in the US that lets people try on clothes virtually. First shown at the Google I/O event, this tool is now available in Google Shopping, Search (with AI Mode), and product listings in Google Images. With just a few steps, users can see how different outfits look on them before buying.
The feature works with Google’s Shopping Graph, which includes billions of clothing items. Users can go to Google Shopping, tap on a product, and if the virtual try-on is available, they will see a “try it on” icon. Clicking this icon allows the user to upload a full-body photo. Google’s AI then shows how the clothing would look on their body, using smart technology that understands how fabric fits and moves.
People can also scroll through the looks they’ve already tried, save their favorite outfits, and share them with friends. The feature uses a special AI model trained on fashion, so it gives realistic and personalized results for different body types.
Along with the virtual try-on, Google is also improving its price alert feature. Now, users can track a specific product based on size, color, and the price they want to pay. This means they won’t get alerts for items in the wrong size or color. This helps users save money and time by only getting updates when the item they want is available at the right price.
Another new tool is also in the works. Google is testing a style search option where users can ask for outfit ideas in AI Mode. The chatbot will suggest clothes for occasions like weddings, parties, or work. It will search through the Shopping Graph and use smart vision tools to show outfit options that match the request. This feature will come later this year for users in the US.
With these updates, Google is changing the way people shop online by using smart tools to make shopping easier, more fun, and personal.
