Lose 40 Kg and Still Eat Dessert? Here’s How!

For anyone with a sweet tooth, the idea of losing weight while still enjoying desserts might seem impossible. But fitness influencer Carla Visentin has proven it’s not only possible but sustainable. Carla lost an impressive 40 kg while indulging in dessert every day, and she’s sharing her top tips to help others achieve similar success without giving up their favorite treats.

Carla’s journey began with a mindset shift. Instead of depriving herself, she focused on balance and moderation. In a recent Instagram post, she revealed her strategies, debunking the myth that weight loss requires cutting out all indulgent foods. Here are the 8 tips she swears by:

  1. Calorie Deficit is Key: Carla emphasizes that exercise alone won’t lead to weight loss unless paired with a calorie-deficit diet. She recommends choosing physical activities you enjoy to stay consistent.
  2. Stay Hydrated: Often, thirst can masquerade as hunger. Carla suggests drinking water and waiting a few minutes to see if the hunger subsides before reaching for a snack.
  3. Simplify Meal Prep: Eating similar meals daily makes tracking calories easier and reduces decision fatigue. This approach helps streamline meal prep and keeps you on track.
  4. Pre-Workout Motivation: Carla uses a pre-workout drink to get herself into “automatic mode” before heading to the gym. This ritual helps her stay excited and committed to her fitness routine.
  5. Use Smaller Plates and Utensils: Eating with smaller plates and utensils slows you down, preventing overeating. It also tricks your brain into feeling satisfied with smaller portions.
  6. Enjoy Daily Treats: Carla sets aside calories each day for dessert. “I have some form of dessert every day because it stops me from going crazy and regulates my cravings,” she says. As long as you maintain a calorie deficit, you can still enjoy your favorite foods.
  7. Chew Sugar-Free Gum: When cravings strike, Carla recommends chewing sugar-free gum to curb hunger and satisfy sweet cravings without extra calories.
  8. Mindset Matters: Small mental shifts can make a big difference. Carla’s motivation came from self-love and the desire to feel her best, not just to look a certain way.

Carla’s story is a powerful reminder that weight loss doesn’t have to mean giving up the foods you love. By focusing on balance, moderation, and sustainable habits, she achieved her goals while still enjoying life’s pleasures. Her tips are not just about losing weight but about creating a healthier, happier lifestyle.
