Bruno Fernandes Is Staying – Amorim Shuts Down Exit Rumors

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has made it clear—Bruno Fernandes is not leaving this summer. Despite reports linking the Portuguese playmaker to Real Madrid, Amorim has firmly dismissed any speculation.

Speaking ahead of United’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest, Amorim confidently addressed the rumors, stating, “No, it’s not going to happen.” When pressed further, he added with a knowing smile, “He’s not going anywhere because I’ve already told him.”

Fernandes remains United’s standout performer this season, consistently delivering top-class performances. The 30-year-old has scored 16 goals across all competitions, with no other United player reaching double figures. Just before the last international break, he showcased his brilliance by scoring five goals in a single week, including a Europa League hat-trick against Real Sociedad.

His impact is undeniable—only Mohamed Salah (54) and Erling Haaland (33) have more goal contributions than Fernandes’ combined 31 in the Premier League this season. However, despite his individual excellence, United have struggled in the league, currently sitting in 13th place as they prepare to face third-placed Nottingham Forest.

Amorim, like his predecessor Erik ten Hag, has consistently backed Fernandes despite external criticism. Former United captain Roy Keane has been vocal about Fernandes’ leadership style, but Amorim sees it differently.

“I want Bruno here because even in our toughest moments, he’s been there,” Amorim stated. “We want to win the Premier League again, so we need our best players to stay. He plays 55 games a season, and between goals and assists, he’s always delivering.”

The manager emphasized that United are in control of the situation and that Fernandes is fully committed to the club’s future. “He’s happy here. He understands our vision, and he’s a true Manchester United supporter. His frustration on the pitch shows how much he wants success, and that’s exactly the kind of player we need.”

With Amorim’s unwavering stance, it’s evident that Fernandes will continue to be a key figure in United’s ambitions. Fans can rest assured—Bruno is staying.
