Google Adds ‘Canvas’ and ‘Audio Overview’ to Gemini for Better AI Creativity

Google has introduced two new features to its Gemini AI chatbot: Canvas and Audio Overview. These tools aim to make AI-powered creativity more interactive and efficient for users.

Canvas provides a workspace where users can draft, refine, and collaborate on writing and coding projects. It allows users to edit sections, adjust tone, and format text easily. Users can also generate and preview HTML, React, and web app prototypes, making it a valuable tool for developers.

For instance, users can highlight a paragraph and ask Gemini to make it more concise or professional. If they need an email subscription form for their website, Gemini can generate the HTML and display a real-time preview. The changes can be iteratively refined within Canvas.

In addition to Canvas, Google has integrated Audio Overview into Gemini. This feature creates podcast-style audio summaries of documents, web pages, and other content. Users can upload files, generate summaries, and download or share them directly from the Gemini app.

These features are now available for free to Gemini users worldwide. However, Canvas’ code preview feature is currently limited to the web version, and Audio Overview supports only English. Google’s latest updates mark a step toward making AI more user-friendly and practical for content creation and development.
