Google Gemini Coming Soon to Tablets, Watches, and Old Phones

Google is taking a big step by expanding its Gemini AI to more devices beyond smartphones. The tech giant announced plans to bring Gemini to tablets, smartwatches, headphones and even Android – powered car systems later this year. This news was shared by Google SEO Sundar Pichai during the company’s 2025 Q1 earnings call.

Right now, Google’s main focus is on replacing Google Assistant with Gemini on smartphones. This process began last year, starting with newer Android devices where Gemini became the default voice assistant. Now, Google is preparing to roll out Gemini on older smartphones as well.

Once the mobile update is complete, Google will move its attention to other devices. Tablets, smartwatches, headphones, and the Android Automotive system will all soon see Gemini as the default AI assistant. This move hints that Google Assistant may eventually be retired completely, although Pichai did not give an exact list of devices or a clear timeline.

Pichai also shared exciting updates about Gemini features. The Gemini Live with Camera and Screen Sharing feature, once available only Pixel and Samsung Galaxy S25 phones, is now expanding to all Android devices, However, using some of these features may require a Gemini Advanced subscription.

Besides this, Google is investing heavily in its AI systems. Recently, the company introduced new Gemini 2.5 Pro and Gemini 2.5 Flash models in beta versions and plans to launch stable versions soon. Work is also underway on new Gemini Robotics models as Google aims to build even stronger AI infrastructure.

With these updates, Google is making it clear that Gemini will be the future across all its platforms, offering smarter and more powerful AI experiences.
