Google Gemini Gets Smarter with Video and Screen Search

Google is enhancing its AI assistant, Gemini, with exciting new features that allow users to ask questions using videos and on-screen content in real time. Unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, the latest update introduces a feature called “Screenshare.” This allows users to share their phone screens with Gemini, making it easy to ask questions about what they see.

For example, during the demonstration, a user was shopping for baggy jeans and asked Gemini what other clothing items would match well with them. This interactive approach makes shopping and information gathering more efficient and engaging.

In addition to Screenshare, Google is also rolling out a video search feature. Initially teased at Google I/O last year, this capability lets users film a video and ask Gemini questions about it as they go. This real-time interaction is set to enhance how users engage with video content.

These innovative features will be available to Gemini Advanced users on the Google One AI Premium plan for Android devices later this month.
