Google NotebookLM App Now on Mobile

Google has just launched its powerful AI note -taking tool, Notebook LM, on Android and iOS devices. The release came a day earlier than expected and just before the Google I/O 2025 event, adding to the excitement around the conference.

Originally launched in 2023, NotebookLM was only available on desktop browsers. Now, with the new mobile apps, users can take advantage of its smart features on the go. NotebookLM is built to help users understand complex materials by offering smart summaries and the ability to ask questions about documents and content directly within the app.

One of its standout features is Audio Overviews. These are AI – generated audio summaries based on the sources you upload. The app supports background playback and offline access for these overviews, making it useful when you’re not connected to the internet.

Users can now create new notebooks or view their existing ones directly from their phones. Adding new content is easy: when browsing a website, reading a PDF, or watching a YouTube video, just tap the share icon and select NotebookLM to save it as a source. You can also browse all previously added sources within your notebooks.

The mobile version includes support for both light and dark modes, adjusting automatically based on your device’s settings.

With the timing of this mobile launch, it’s likely that Google will highlight more about NotebookLM during the I/O 2025 keynote.
