The HMD Barbie Flip Phone is set to launch in India shortly, as confirmed by the company through social media teasers. Initially released in select regions in August 2024, this stylish flip phone showcases a vibrant Barbie design in a striking pink color.
The phone comes with matching accessories, including back covers, a charger, and a battery, all in various shades of pink. It features a Barbie-themed user interface, making it a charming accessory for fans. Notably, the cover display acts as a mirror, and the phone is delivered in a jewelry box-styled case, adding a touch of luxury.
While the exact launch date in India is yet to be announced, promotional images suggest that the design will closely resemble the global variant. The specifications of the Indian version are also expected to align with those of the international model.
The global version boasts a 2.8-inch QVGA main screen and a 1.77-inch QQVGA cover display. It is powered by a Unisoc T107 processor, paired with 64MB of RAM and 128MB of internal storage. Additionally, it has a 0.3-megapixel rear camera and an LED flash.
Available in the signature Power Pink, the Barbie Flip Phone features a keypad adorned with glow-in-the-dark motifs, including palm trees, hearts, and flamingos. Upon powering on, users are greeted with a cheerful “Hi Barbie” voice. The device runs on the S30+ operating system and includes a pre-installed beach-themed game called Malibu Snake.
With a removable 1,450mAh battery, the phone promises up to nine hours of talk time on a single charge. Both the charger and battery are also pink, ensuring a cohesive look. The phone supports 4G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C. In the US, it is priced at $129, approximately Rs. 10,800.
