Honda and Acura EV owners will soon be able to charge their vehicles at Tesla Superchargers in North America. Starting in June, drivers of the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX will have access to Tesla’s charging network, making long-distance travel more convenient.
Since these vehicles use CCS charging ports instead of Tesla’s NACS technology, owners will need an approved fast-charging adapter, which will be available at Honda dealerships. Pricing details have yet to be announced, but Honda and Acura EV owners will be notified through the HondaLink and Acura EV apps once the adapters are ready for purchase. The apps will also help locate compatible Supercharger stations.
Honda initially committed to adopting Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) in 2023, with plans to launch an NACS-equipped EV in 2025. However, the first model to feature the NACS port will now be the Acura RSX, arriving in 2026, followed by Honda’s 0 Series EVs.
With this move, Honda and Acura join other major automakers, including Ford, General Motors, Lucid, and Rivian, in giving their customers access to Tesla’s extensive charging network. This expansion will improve charging options for EV drivers and further accelerate the shift toward electric mobility.
