iOS 19 Big Leaks: New Look, New Name, New Power

Apple is gearing up to reveal its latest iPhone update during WWDC 2025, and the next version of iOS cloud be the biggest one in years. With many leaks and speculations floating around, here’s a clear look at what’s possibly coming to iOS 19 – or what may now be called iOS 26.

Apple is rumored to rename its software lineup based on the release year instead of version numbers. So, iOS 19 would instead be called iOS 26. This change is expected across other Apple systems too – like iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS – all becoming version 26.

One of the biggest expected updates is a full design refresh. Reports suggest Apple might introduce a new style called “Liquid Glass”, inspired by the look and feel of the Vision Pro headset. This design could include soft translucent backgrounds and circular app icons for a more fluid user experience. Apps like Phone, Safari, and Camera may also get new looks. The Phone app may merge contacts, calls, and voicemail into one view, while Safari could feature a see-through address bar.

Another exciting feature is the possibility of a dedicated game app. This app could bring Apple Arcade and App Store games into one place, offering leaderboards, achievements, and easy access to new games. It’s a move that could change how users discover and play games on iPhone.

Health and wellness could also take center stage. A new AI-powered virtual health coach might help users improve their lifestyle by offering personalized advice. The Health app may also get a food-tracking feature, making it easier to log caffeine or carb intake.

Apple may focus on smarter battery management too. New battery-saving features could use AI to learn your habits and optimize power usage. A charging status icon on the lock screen might show when your iPhone will be fully charged. Rumors also hint at reverse wireless charging on upcoming iPhone 17 Pro models, which may let you charge AirPods or an Apple Watch directly from your phone.

Messages could become even more powerful. Apple might add AI translation to chats, allowing incoming messages to be translated instantly. A new poll option in group chats may appear, letting users vote easily – and AI could even suggest polls based on the conversation. Users may also get the ability to add custom backgrounds to message threads, just like in apps like WhatsApp or Instagram.

Apple may also introduce the Preview app, previously only on macOS, to iPhones and iPads. This could make editing and signing PDFs a lot easier and faster on mobile devices.

A small but fun addition could be an updated Genmoji feature. Users might soon combine existing emojis to create fun new versions – like a basketball going into a trash can emoji.

Once expected update that might not make the cut just yet is Siri. Apple had teased smarter, context-aware features earlier, but it seems those upgrades are delayed. However, we can still expect some AI improvements to Apple Intelligence tools already built into the system.

If these rumors are true, the next iOS release could bring a fresh name, a new look, and smarter tools, making iPhones even more helpful and exciting.
