Pakistan clinched a thrilling 11-run victory over Bangladesh in a low-scoring Asia Cup thriller. The win sets up a dream final against arch-rivals India, making it the third India-Pakistan clash of the tournament.
After the game, Pakistan Captain Salman Ali Agha praised his team’s fighting spirit. He called it a sign of a “special team” that can win tight matches. While admitting the batsmen need to improve, Agha sounded confident about the final. “We are a good enough team to beat anyone,” he said.
The match-winner was Shaheen Shah Afridi. He first smashed a quick 19 runs to help Pakistan reach a modest total. Then, with the ball, he took 3 key wickets for just 17 runs. Afridi said the plan was simple: attack early with the new ball. About the final, he had a clear message: “We are ready.”
For Bangladesh, stand-in captain Jaker Ali said batting failures cost them the game for the second day in a row. He thanked his bowlers but said the batsmen let the team down.
The stage is now set for the ultimate showdown. Pakistan and India will meet on Sunday to decide the Asia Cup champion.
