Reddit Now Speaks Hindi

Reddit has introduced Hindi translations for posts and comments as part of its effort to grow its user base in India. With this new update, Reddit users can now view content in one of the country’s most widely spoken languages, making the platform more accessible to millions of Hindi speakers.

The update is part of Reddit’s machine translation feature, which was first tested last year with French. It later expanded to include Spanish and Portuguese, and now supports Hindi with Bengali set to be added soon. This move reflects Reddit’s growing interest in serving regional audiences and bringing more local users into global conversations.

In addition to language support, Reddit recently expanded its AI-powered search tool, Answers. This tool helps users get quick and relevant information from Reddit’s vast database of discussions. The feature, previously limited to select U.S. users, is now available in India, as well as in countries like Australia, Canada, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, and the U.K.

India continues to be a major focus for Reddit. The company has hired new team members in various departments such as community building, legal, growth, and engineering. It is also actively hiring more people to support content and local community efforts.

This step shows Reddit’s strong interest in connecting with Indian users by breaking the language barrier and offering smarter tools for discovering content.
