A shocking case from Colorado has left many in disbelief. A woman, Ashley White, was convicted for the murder of
her boyfriend, Cody DeLisa, after he doubted her ability to secure a job. The tragic incident unfolded in 2020 when the 29-year-old was traveling back home from Denver. While on the bus, she texted DeLisa about her job interview, but his skepticism enraged her.
During her journey, she encountered a stranger who introduced himself as “Scott.” Their conversation took a dark turn when he questioned her about her relationship. When she claimed her boyfriend had harmed her, Scott suggested they should kill him.
After getting off the bus, White and Scott spent time together, firing Scott’s gun before heading to her home. Once there, Scott introduced himself to DeLisa as White’s brother from Texas. Shortly after, DeLisa was shot twice in the head. His body was discovered the next day during a welfare check.
Following the murder, White and Scott stole DeLisa’s wallet and remained in the area for a few days. Eventually, Scott disappeared, and White never saw him again. However, investigators soon identified her as a suspect. When questioned, she provided a detailed account of the events leading to DeLisa’s death. Based on the evidence, she was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and robbery.
Authorities described the killing as a senseless act of violence. District Attorney Brian Mason stated that White’s actions directly led to the victim’s death, and now she must face the consequences. The case serves as a grim reminder of how impulsive decisions can have devastating outcomes.
