How to Lower Bad Cholesterol and Boost Good Cholesterol Naturally

High cholesterol is a growing concern today, often linked to poor lifestyle choices. While many believe that eating fatty foods is the main reason for high LDL (bad cholesterol), nutritionist Anjali Mukerjee explains that daily habits play a major role in cholesterol imbalance. Factors like genetics, medical conditions, and certain medications can also impact LDL and HDL (good cholesterol) levels.

What Causes High LDL Cholesterol?
  1. Unhealthy processed foods – Consuming refined carbs, deep-fried snacks, and unhealthy oils leads to inflammation, insulin resistance, and cholesterol issues.
  2. Plaque buildup in arteries – High LDL levels increase the risk of heart disease and poor circulation by causing artery blockages.
  3. Nutrient deficiencies & stress – Poor sleep, high stress, and a lack of antioxidants damage arteries and worsen cholesterol levels.

How to Improve Cholesterol Levels?

  1. Avoid processed foods and unhealthy oils.
  2. Eat fiber-rich foods like fruits and vegetables.
  3. Add healthy fats like nuts, seeds, and cold-pressed oils to your diet.
  4. Get enough sleep and manage stress for better heart health.

Anjali Mukerjee emphasizes that maintaining cholesterol balance is not about avoiding fats but choosing the right ones. A heart-healthy lifestyle with real, nourishing food, movement, and restful sleep is the key to overall well-being.
