Xiaomi has launched its new 15 series ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. This series includes the compact Xiaomi 15 and the powerful Xiaomi 15 Ultra, both featuring Leica-tuned cameras. This ongoing partnership with Leica promises exciting camera innovations. While we await the India pricing on March 11, the Xiaomi 15 starts at EUR 999 (around Rs. 91,000) in Europe, and the 15 Ultra is priced at EUR 1,499 (about Rs. 1,36,000).
Xiaomi 15: Compact and Powerful
The Xiaomi 15 keeps the compact design of its predecessor, making it easy to hold and lightweight at under 200 grams. Its aerospace-grade aluminum frame adds a premium touch. The phone features a 6.36-inch screen with ultra-thin bezels, ensuring a bright and vibrant display. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, it promises top-notch performance, and the Ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is quick and responsive.
The camera setup on the Xiaomi 15 includes three 50-megapixel sensors: a main sensor, a telephoto sensor, and an ultra-wide sensor. New features in the camera app, like Sunset Portrait mode, enhance photography options. The phone has a 5240mAh battery with 90W HyperCharge support, and it integrates AI features, including Google Gemini.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra: The Camera Powerhouse
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is designed for photography lovers. It competes with high-end models like the Vivo X200 Pro. The design takes inspiration from professional cameras, using materials such as aerospace-grade glass fiber. The camera housing is seamlessly integrated for a sleek look. Available colors include Silver Chrome, White, and Black, and it also has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
The device sports a 6.73-inch WQHD+ AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 3200 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate, offering an outstanding viewing experience. It is also powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and features a robust 5410mAh battery with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging options.
The camera system is impressive, featuring a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 200-megapixel telephoto sensor, and more, all enhanced by Leica’s imaging technology. The 32-megapixel front camera rounds out the setup. Both models run on HyperOS 2 based on Android 15, equipped with various AI features.
