TikTok’s New Security Tool to Keep Your Account Safe

TikTok is making it easier for users to protect their accounts with a new feature called Security Checkup. This tool allows users to quickly review and update their security settings in one place. Similar to security tools on Instagram and Google, this feature helps users add extra protection to their accounts.

Users can access Security Checkup by going to Settings and privacy and selecting Security and permissions. The tool provides a step-by-step guide to enhance security. It encourages users to link their phone number and email for backup login options, ensuring they don’t lose access to their accounts. Two-step verification is also available, adding an extra layer of security when logging in from new devices.

The feature also reminds users to check which devices are logged into their accounts and remove any that seem unfamiliar or inactive. It suggests enabling device-based authentication methods like Face ID or Touch Unlock for added protection and convenience.

TikTok actively monitors accounts for unusual activity and alerts users if anything suspicious is detected. With growing concerns about online security, this tool helps users stay one step ahead of hackers and unauthorized access.

Despite uncertainties about TikTok’s future in the U.S., the platform continues to introduce new features, including improved teen safety tools and an enhanced desktop experience. Security Checkup is another step in making TikTok a safer space for its users.
