Oppo Air Glass

The Chinese phone manufacturer Oppo Company manufactured the Oppo Air Glass and introduced to the Chinese Mainland market in 2022. This innovative aR (assisted Reality) product has been created using a custom diffraction optical waveguide display, Micro LED, and an OPPO self-developed Spark Micro Projector so that it has the capability to produce necessary information though you wear it indoors or outdoors. According to the Oppo Company, the Smart Glass App on the OPPO Watch 2 and any OPPO smartphone running ColorOS 11 or higher are used to handle this device. Additionally, they claim that this Oppo Air glass facilitates natural user interactions, including head movement, touch, speech, and hand motion so that users now have quicker and simpler access to the data they require. Applications used by the OPPO company to install the OPPO Air Glass include Climate, Schedule, Healthcare, Teleprompter, Translate, and Navigator.

Because of OPPO Air Glass’s uniqueness and eye-catching design, everyone can wear it as a stylish accessory, even though you are not actually using it. The OPPO Air Glass frame has been manufactured using the CNC technique. The main body of this glass has been designed to get inspiration by the features of feathers and the touch bar has been created to imitate the feather shaft. At the same time, the wings of the cicada have been replicated for the creation of the monocular waveguide lens. Silver half-frame and Black full-frame are the two types of frames of Oppo Air Glass. These two types of frames are available in two sizes. Hence, users can select better eyewear suitable for them.

This air glass weighs around 30g in total. Hence, this makes it one of the lightest single transferable waveguide devices available, and you can wear it just like a typical pair of glasses. When it comes to the projector features, a CNC metal casing with a glass lens component offers excellent heat escape and reliability. Here, the projector supports an average brightness of up to 3 million units and is driven by a cutting-edge Micro LED.

Oppo Air Glass uses a specialized optical diffraction waveguide therefore it supports two different display modes. One is a grayscale level range of 16 and the other one is a grayscale level range of 256. At the same time, this device has the capability to provide average brightness of up to 1400 nits, ensuring a sharpened and colorful visual display under a variety of lighting circumstances. In addition, the waveguide has been covered on both sides by two layers of sapphire glass so that it provides protection with improved visibility.

Everyone is aware of how helpful the translation feature is for intercultural communication. Hence, with this glass, voice input from one user is instantly translated into texts in the target language and is then projected instantly on the Air Glass of the other user. currently, it supports only Chinese – English two–way translation and in the future, they expect to provide Chinese – Japanese and Chinese – Korean translation facilities. Real-time on-display navigation, which gives instructions via visual cues, is another significant aspect built into this innovative smart glass.

According to the Oppo company, this Air Glass contains four major qualities, and they include lightness, beauty, generality, and utility. This company intends to replace their customers’ smartphones and smartwatches as their third screen via this device. This product’s internal hardware, the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 processor, contains features like weather alerts, schedule reminders, a health app, and a teleprompter that will provide users benefits like speeches and presentations, among other things. Another cutting-edge application of the Oppo Air Glass is the teleprompter. It enables a dynamic text display to simplify your job or public presentation.
