TikTok’s New Meditation Tool Helps You Scroll Less and Sleep More

TikTok is introducing an innovative wellness feature designed to help users break free from late-night scrolling sessions. The platform’s new in-app meditation tool offers guided breathing exercises accompanied by calming visuals and soft music, creating a digital wind-down experience for sleep – deprived users.

For teenage users, these meditation prompts will automatically activate after 10 PM as part of TikTok’s ongoing teen safety initiatives. Younger users will receive two gentle reminders – first interrupting their feed, then displaying a full-screen prompt if they continue scrolling. Adults can opt into the feature through the app’s Screen Time settings, customizing when they’d like their nightly meditation reminder.

This wellness push comes alongside TikTok’s $2.3 million Mental Health Education Fund, providing ad credits to 31 mental health organizations worldwide. The meditation feature represents TikTok’s latest effort to address concerns about digital wellbeing, particularly for its younger audience. By blending mindfulness techniques with app usage limits, TikTok aims to transform from a potential sleep disruptor into a tool for healthier nighttime routines.
