Snapchat’s New Tools Make Content Creation Easier for Creators

Snapchat is stepping up its game in the battle with Instagram and TikTok by adding new features that make content creation much easier for creators. The app has rolled out several updates aimed at helping users edit, organize, and share content directly within Snapchat, reducing the need for third-party apps.

One of the most useful new features is the Timeline Editor. This tool allows creators to see their video clips in a timeline format, making it easy to trim, move, or rearrange them. Once the video layout is ready, creators can add music from the Snapchat Sounds library, apply fun Lenses, and use other creative tools. This update is expected to save creators time and effort since they no longer have to use external editing apps like CapCut for basic edits.

Another exciting feature is the new “Create a Video” template. With this, users can pick a few memories, add a soundtrack, and select a video style to create a custom video compilation. This tool is now available globally for iOS users and makes sharing memorable moments even more fun and personalized.

Snapchat is also making it easier for creators to keep their content live on their profile. Soon, users will be able to automatically save their public Stories to their profiles. This gives followers a way to revisit Stories anytime, helping creators build a lasting collection of their best moments. While this goes against the traditional short-lived nature of Stories, it offers a practical option for creators who want to save their highlights.

In addition to editing and saving features, Snapchat is giving creators access to more detailed insights. They will now be able to see how many viewers returned to watch their content for at least 12 days in the past month. They can also view stats like which posts got the most views in the last 28 days, total view time, and which traffic sources are bringing in the most viewers—such as Discover For You, Spotlight, Search, and more.

Snapchat will also show the average watch time on Spotlight posts and what percentage of the video was actually watched by viewers. These insights help creators understand what’s working and what needs improvement, so they can make better content going forward.

With all these updates, Snapchat is clearly focusing on helping creators grow and manage their presence on the platform more effectively. It’s a strong move that could attract more users and keep creators engaged.
