WhatsApp’s New ‘@All’ Feature Lets You Notify Everyone in Group Chats

WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that makes group messaging faster and easier. The platform is now testing its much-awaited “@all” mention feature, allowing users to tag everyone in a group chat with just one tap. This update is now available for beta testers using the latest WhatsApp beta version (2.25.31.9) for Android through the Google Play Store beta program.

The “@all” mention lets users instantly notify all group members at once, making it perfect for sharing important messages or announcements. Instead of tagging people one by one, users can now type “@all” to alert the entire group. This feature ensures that key messages reach everyone, even if some members have muted notifications.

The rollout is happening gradually, meaning not all users will get access immediately. However, more Android users are expected to receive it in the coming weeks.

WhatsApp has also added certain rules to keep things organized. In small groups, all members can use the “@all” mention freely. But in larger groups, only admins will have access to it. This is to prevent unnecessary notifications and spam. Currently, groups with over 32 members are considered large, though this limit may change in future updates.

This new feature is designed to save time and improve communication in busy group chats. It’s especially helpful for office teams, schools, community groups, or families where important updates often get lost in long conversations. With “@all,” messages stay visible and everyone stays in the loop.

WhatsApp is also testing a new control setting that allows users to manage notifications from “@all” mentions. People who don’t want to receive these alerts can easily mute them from the group’s notification settings. This gives users more freedom to control what alerts they receive and avoid distractions.

Even if a group is muted, users can still choose whether they want to get “@all” notifications or not. Those who want to stay informed can keep the alerts turned on, while others can turn them off anytime.

The “@all” mention feature highlights WhatsApp’s continued effort to make communication simpler, faster, and more organized. It adds another layer of convenience for both personal and professional group chats.

As WhatsApp expands the rollout, more users will soon experience how this feature makes group conversations smoother and ensures that no important message goes unnoticed.
